An old heirloom brought to Saskatchewan, Canada by Russian Mennonites. The tall vines grow to 6’ or more and have lovely purple/mauve flowers. Very productive vines. Delicious edible pods when young and shelling peas later on. Extremely cold tolerant, has one of the best germination rates in cool, wet spring conditions.
*These are endangered seeds, remember to keep a few pods on the vine and let them dry to add to your heirloom seed collection for future use!
Sow seeds 1/2″ deep in warn fertile soil in Spring, give these vines something to climb on.
