“Sussex Gold” in color, this perennial is often grown for use as a colorful addition to cut flower arrangements. An Alstroemeria plant may grow as tall as 48 inches and blooms around late spring. Make a great cut flower!
Plant Alstroemerias in a sheltered site, in part shade or a cool sunny location with well drained soil.
Best Germination:
Sow seeds outdoors in fall 1/8″ deep in locations where winter temperatures do not fall below -5c.
In colder locations: Store seeds in refrigerator 2-4 weeks. Remove seeds and soak in water over night, plant in well drained soil early indoors – 4-6 weeks before last frost. Transplant out after last frost.
